Party history
Reform was created in 1909 and focused on the interests of farmers and business. It entered government in 1912 after challenging the Liberals. Following its defeat in 1928, Reform later joined United in a coalition in 1931. The two parties came together to form National in 1936.
Party created
Reform was established as an organised challenger to the Liberal Party.
Forms a government
Reform took office after the 1911 election and the subsequent change of government.
Coalition with United
Reform and United formed a coalition government during the economic crisis.
Formation of National
Reform and United joined in creating the National Party.
